Full Version: Alternate Name Sync Problem?

I am using Legacy Family Tree (7.4) and just downloaded the Families (1.1.1) iPhone app. I followed the instructions and brought my tree onto my iPhone (iOS 4.2) without a problem. I thought I would give it a test and so changed one small piece of information.

I noticed that one person's alternate name had their surname at the end of the Given Name field instead of in the Surname field (which was empty). So I added the surname to the Surname field and removed it from the end of the Given Name field.

I then followed the instructions to get the tree off the iPhone and ended up with a new fdb file whose contents I compared to the old in Legacy Family Tree. I checked to see if the alternate name change I made on the iPhone had made it back to the fdb file without a problem and found that only some of it had.

What I found was that the Given Name field of the alternate name now showed the correct value (i.e. with the original incorrect surname removed), but the Surname field of the alternate name was still empty!

I went ahead and added the correct Surname to the alternate name in Legacy Family Tree on my PC and sent it back to the iPhone where the information appeared correctly. Without changing anything on the iPhone, I then transfered the tree back to the PC again and the alternate name information made it back in one piece.

I don't know if the problem is reproducible, but I thought I would mention it in case someone wanted to look into it.

We have verified that this is a bug, and will be fixed in the next version. Thank you for reporting the problem.
