Families stopped working (blank screen) after last update on Dell Streak 5 with 2.2.2

I tried "restoring" my Streak to it's state as of Aug 3, 2011. The Families program showed as 1.2. However, after the restore, it seems to have updated itself to, now, 1.4!

Buttons showing to choose from are "Force close" or "Report". I have tried both.

Previously, the size of the program on my Streak showed 1.3 mb. When I re-downloaded (only the 1.4 is available to me), the size says 642 K--or is that compressed?

What is the solution?

This problem was resolved offline. The "Calculate Relationships" option was selected but this eventually failed because memory usage was exceeded (this problem was fixed in 1.4.0). However, it left an enormous trace file, and on startup the app was reading this file and taking a long time to do so, during which the blank screen was seen. The solution was to delete all the files from the Run folder and install the current version 1.4.0.
