NOTES don't translate foreign letters
Hi, NOTES from the PC version are not translated correct on the phone.
Norwegian letters "øæå" are not translated correct to the phone, but only wrong in the NOTES, all other text translate normal.
Copy back to PC are OK and translate back to "normal" letters are...

Any suggestion ?

I've been unable to reproduce this problem. I've included that sequence of characters in a note in my Legacy file and transferred it to both an iPhone and an Android phone and in both cases it displays correctly. Can you provide more information on the problem and ideally supply a Legacy file containing a note which demonstrates the problem.

Hi, again
I have sent you a legacy file (20120509) earlier in connection with another problem, if you still have it, please look at details for person with ID 19
I will try to explain:
All transfer to and from pc and phone works OK, no problem
but on the phone, when I only look at the individual person and this person have NOTES (research or medical) it looks ok, but opening the details .... it shows wrong characters for the forein letters... But if I press EDIT it will translate ok and show me all letters as it should.

The fault is only in showing the details from the Notes, not when editing or any other time...
If you don't have the file.. I can send you a new

I've viewed the notes for ID 19 on both iPhone and iPad and they display exactly as in Legacy! Using Families 1.6.0, Families Sync 1.4.4, iOS 5.1.1, Language English.

RE: NOTES don't translate foreign letters
Hope you tested on Android, since I don't have any Iphone...and the fault are reported in Android section...

the NOTES - RESEARCH for ID19 are in Norwegian:
"kan ha en bror eller søster i.f. kilde"

But when I READ the note it looks like this:
"kan ha en bror eller sÃ,ster i.f. kilde"
If I try EDIT the note it looks equal to when I read it...

This is onle one example, alle Norwegian char. are wrong in READ but ok in EDIT....
I use: Families v. 1.6.0 Sync v. 1.4.4.0
MY phone have Android v 4.0.4 and language are Norwegian (Norsk Bokmål)

I did test on Android and it displays correctly on my phone (Android 2.2). However, I've just tested on Android 4.0 emulator and I see your problem, so it's a problem that has resulted from a change in behaviour in 4.0. I've researched this and found the cause so the problem will be fixed in the next version. Thanks for your patience in providing the information to enable me to pinpoint the problem.
