Master source(s)
I am using iPad3 with Families and manually keying information because wi-fi sync did not work properly and I have not tried the USB cable transfer yet. I entered a master source without detail and moved on to other input. I decided to enter specific detail to the master source and returned to one instance of it's use and keyed in the information. When I viewed that same source on a different person, the detail was not there. Do I have to figure out the FIRST time I added that source and put the detail there? Isn't it supposed to show detail every place it is used? Thank you for your time.

This is really a Legacy question rather than specifically Families, as the app is designed to work in the same way as Legacy. A master source contains information relating to more than one person or event, e.g. information about a particular census. A detail source contains information specific to a person, e.g. the specific reference for the person within the census. Thus you would normally need to enter different detail information for each different person. A further factor which may be relevant is that in Legacy there is the "source clipboard" which enables the same detail source information to be associated with multiple fields of a person's entry such as name, birth date etc, without the need to rekey the data. Families does not currently have an equivalent of the source clipboard.

Thank you, Malcolm, for the fast reply. It is difficult for me to keep Families and Legacy separated in my head. I will investigate further.
