How do I import my photos?
Hi, I am so glad there is now an iphone app that works with Legacy! I loaded my existing Legacy file with no problems. Now I would like to import my photos. They are not embedded my the Legacy file, but are individual jpgs in a separate directory that are linked (by name) to the Legacy file. I do see a place to import a single photo. Do they have to be imported one at a time?
I also see an existing jpg file name listed on the Families photo screen for my profile page in the "Name" field. Now I just need to import the photo and I assume the links will be re-established. The import function, though, wants to import from my iphone's photo roll. They are instead on my hard drive. I tried navigating the Families sync screen to the folder on my hard drive where all my jpgs are stored, but it did not recognize all files in that folder. Any advice for me? Thanks! Gail |

RE: How do I import my photos?
Gail,
Providing the Families Sync settings option "Copy Pictures" is checked (which is the default) your photos should automatically be included with the file transferred to the iPhone. Unlike on the PC, where the photo files are separate from the FDB file, the SqLite file transferred to the iPhone has the photos embedded within it. When you do the transfer, Families Sync displays a message indicating the number of records transferred, including the number of photos. The feature you referred to for "importing" photos via the camera or photo library is for adding new photos on the iPhone, which will then get transferred back to the PC when you sync. Malcolm |

RE: How do I import my photos?
Thanks for the help, Malcolm. I did a little more digging and found that in my Legacy database's list of multimedia locations, I had left in some old paths from a prior PC. That was somehow conflicting with the import. The photos all seem to be imported now and I have changed my default import directories.
One more thing I haven't found yet - how to I remove the Kennedy family? Thanks much! Gail (06-Aug-2010 04:33 PM)roots2buds Wrote: Thanks for the help, Malcolm. Gail,
To delete a family file, tap Edit on the Families screen then tap the minus icon against the file you want to delete. Tap the Delete button to confirm deletion. Malcolm |

Alternatively swipe sideways along the database name on the Families screen. A "Delete" button appears in place of the right arrow. Pete C. |
